According to The Times, Arsenal spent a loan fee of 2.17million to sign Suarez, and are also paying the player around 55,000-per-week.This means he has so far cost the club 2.67million – or 28,105 per minute played!Suarez has still not started a single match for Arsenal – aside from a friendly against Al-Nasr in Dubai– with all six of his appearances for the Gunners coming from the bench.

He hasn’t even made it off the bench in five of the 11 fixtures in which he has been selected by Emery.In total, Suarez has played 28 minutes of Europa League football and 67 minutes of Premier League football since joining Arsenal – coming in at a lowly 95 minutes play time across all competitions.Given Arsenal are in a fierce fight to finish inside the top four, it’s unlikely Emery will risk playing Suarez throughout the final weeks of the season as he has shown little to suggest he is ready for Premier League football.2

Incredibly, it is quite realistic that Suarez will get sent back to Barcelona at the end of the season having not started a single match for his loan club, raising the question again of justwhy Arsenal decided to sign him earlier this year.
