David Moyes has told talkSPORT he should have been given more time at Manchester United, saying the club have still not recovered following the exit of Sir Alex Ferguson.Moyes was axed after just ten months in charge at Old Trafford having been chosen to succeed the legendary manager.4

The club have appointed two world-renowned coaches since then and yet are still struggling to compete for a top-four spot, let alone the Premier League title.Current boss Jose Mourinho is under pressure to deliver top trophies this season having spent over 300million on new players since his appointment in 2016.4

But United had more points under Moyes after 13 games than they have this season under Jose Mourinho with the Red Devils currently sitting in seventh place.In fact, United have endured their worst start to a league campaign for 28 years since the 1990-91 campaign, before the formation of the Premier League.They were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday, with United winning just three times at Old Trafford in all competitions this term.Joining the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast in the studio on Monday, Moyes said: Do I feel I should have been given more time? Of course I do.4

Moyes began his reign as Manchester United manager in July 2013, and was sacked the following April with the club seventh in the Premier League

To go to a club like Manchester United and follow someone like Sir Alex after the time he had been there, to stay for ten monthsIt couldnt be a revolution at Manchester United, it had to be evolution. It had to take time.I wasnt going to come in and change all the things Alex had done, but there were lots of things that had to be changed at the club.You look at the way Chelsea and Man City had been doing things and changing things along the way Manchester United had been winning because they had a special manager and a special group of players.4
