Marco Silva has been fined 12,000 after he confronted referee Lee Mason following Evertons defeat to Newcastle earlier this month. The Everton boss was furious the hosts winning goal was allowed to stand in their 3-2 victory, as Salomon Rondon appeared to be in an offside position in the build-up to Ayoze Perez’s finish.Marco Silva confronted the officials after the game1

Perez’s winner came after the Toffees threw away a two-goal lead in the match. Silva confronted Mason on the pitch after the final whistle, which led to his Football Association charge and fine.“When they scored the third goal it was a big mistake by the assistant – it was a clear offside…it’s not just one or two players in offside positions, there were five Newcastle players in the same line in offside positions,” Silva said afterwards.
