In one of the most surprising reports so far, Barcelona’sPhillipe Coutinho has been linked with a sensational return to the Premier League with Manchester United.The Brazilian playmaker has found it difficult to adapt with the Catalan giants since his 142million move from Liverpool a year ago.He hasnt started a LaLiga game since early December and has made four substitute appearances since then, giving him a combined total of 66 league minutes on the pitch.With reports stating he could be shown the Nou Camp exit door, punters have piled the cash on him making his way to Old Trafford – resulting in the bookies slashing his odds for a move from 10/1 to 13/2 on Tuesday. It looks highly unlikely he will be allowed to leave Barca this month, however.

Another recruit the Red Devils have been linked with is Brazilian defender Eder Militao.Militao is currently at Porto and has caught the eye of a number of European giants with his performances at the back, including bitter rivals Liverpool and Real Madrid.The 20-year-old is also appealing to Solskjaer due to his versatility – as although he is predominantly a right-back, he can play in the centre too.Militao signed for Porto in the summer for just 4million and now reportedly has a 42.5million release clause.His size and speed has seen him rise to be one of the most highly-rated defenders in Europe and he is currently in the WhoScored Primeira Liga team of the season, averaging a 7.5/10 rating for a Porto side that tops the division.

Another player who could be on his way to Old Trafford is Kostas Manolas.According to reports, United chiefs are ready to prise the Greek away from Roma by activating his 32million release clause in the summer.However,Gazzetta dello Sport have reportedthe Italian side are already looking to replace their centre-back – increasing speculation he could be on his way this month.Manolas has been impressive in the heart of Roma’s defence since his move to the Italian capital in 2014.He has been linked with a host of top European clubs and recently stated “it’s only naturalyou want to play for the biggest clubs.”There is no doubting United need to add a centre-back to their ranks and only time will tell if Manolas is their man.

Inter Milan’s winger Ivan Perisic could finally seal a move to Old Trafford this month.The Sun have reported the Italian side are willing to cash in on the Croatianin order to fund a move for his compatriot Luka Modric.Modric has been a long-time target for the San Siro outfit and it has always been Perisic’s dream to play in the Premier League – so the move would suit both parties.Perisic could provide healthy competition on the wings for the likes of Lingard and Martial and isknown for being a hard worker defensively, which would be a bonusfor Solskjaer.

Long-serving captain Antonio Valencia could be on his way out of Manchester United.The Ecuadorian has been a loyal servant to the Red Devils since 2009, making 240 league appearances in his nine years with the club.However, Sky Italia have reported that Inter Milan are considering a move for the right-back if they lose their star defender Joao Miranda.Valencia, 33, fell out with previous manager Jose Mourinho earlier in the season afterhe liked an Instagram postcalling for the under-pressure manager to be sacked.Although Solkjaer has insisted he will captain the side when fit, he could be willing to part ways with his ageing full-back with the promising Diogo Dalot in his ranks.

Another player who could be on his way out is Marouane Fellaini.The Belgium international has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.According to AMK Spor, Fenerbahce are ready to pounce by offering him a huge 7.5million for an 18-month contract.The 31-year-old has seen just three minutes ofPremier Leaguegame time since Mourinho was sacked last month.However, he does not suit the characteristics of Solskjaer’s playing style and could look to for first-team opportunities in another league as he approaches the tail end of his career.Fellaini has played in England since 2008 and has made more than 250 appearances for Everton and Manchester United.
