Stephen Kenny has been officially unveiled as the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21 manager.The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) confirmed Kenny, 47, would be leading the eldest youth team when Mick McCarthy was named senior boss on Sunday afternoon.

He has totalled 46 matches across UEFA competitions, and has collected 18 senior titles in Ireland throughout his career.Kenny said: “I consider it a huge honour to be appointed manager of the Ireland Under-21 team.“Im delighted with the position I have been offered and Im looking forward to the next four years and beyond. Im excited to get started and work on developing and nurturing the next group of talented players.”
