Five Lyon fans reportedly attacked in Barcelona ahead of Champions League second leg
Five Lyon fans have been attacked in Barcelona ahead of the Champions League second leg at the Nou Camp between the two sides, according to reports.The two teams go into the game level having played out a goalless draw in France three weeks ago.2

However, the build up to the return match has been overshadowed with four Lyon supporters being treated for the effects of pepper spray and a fifth has been transferred to a hospital in the city with a wound, although it’s not clear what their condition is, claims Cadena SER.A group of Lyon fans, ultras known as the ‘Bad Gones’, set their meeting area in a square in the northern part of Barcelona.It is understood the Bad Gones have links with the Ultrasur of Real Madrid, had announced on social media they were gathering in the Placa d’Osca, which is near the Nou Camp and a place where anti-fascist celebrations are usually held. A crowd of people with a banner reading: “Tout le monde deteste fascistes (Everyone detests the fascists)” changed the plans of the French radicals.The Bad Gones have around 6,000 fans in their ranks, have links to the far right in recent years which has led to several incidents so much so UEFA threatened Lyon with the closure of their ground after clashes with the Carso, ultra-left followers of Turkish giants Besiktas in a Europa League match in April 2017.5,000 Lyon fans are expected to attend the Champions League match with most of them not having any relationship with the Bad Gones.2
